Course Content

Groundwater Hydraulics is an advanced course that negotiates the flow of groundwater: a) in saturated zones, b) towards pumping works, c) towards springs and d) in coastal aquifers.

The porous media, fractured media, karstic media; The flow in porous media. Darcy Law and Laplace Equation; Flow to pumping wells; Hydraulic parameters and characteristics, head losses and test pumps; Flow nets; Hydraulics of pumping works in a fractured media; The karstic media (flow, hydraulics, karstic models, pumping works); Hydrodynamic analysis of springs discharges. Time series and hydrograms. Maillet, Tison, etc. equations; Hydraulic models. Hydraulics of the salinization fronts. Hydraulic of two-phase flows (hot springs); Draining, pumping, reconfigurations, combined water man-agement.
