RESEARCH PROGRAMS

The Department of Geology and Geoenvironment participates in a series of Research Programs through the Special Account for Research Grants (S.A.R.G.) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

The promotion of research within the Department covers a wide range of Geosciences. His research activities include both basic and applied research programs implemented at the national and international level, as well as numerous consulting projects with public and private sector recipients. Thematically, during the last five years, the research activity in the Department is focused on two main axes:

a) General and applied Geology with an emphasis on the geological processes that shape the structure and function of our planet

b) Study and management of the natural environment of our planet with an emphasis on the interaction with human activities and climate change
