The Practical Training of the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment has been included as a programme within the framework of the Act entitled "Practical Training of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens for the academic year 2023- 2024" with ID Code 5184403 which is part of the Operational Programme "Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning 2014-2020" and co-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Subproject (1) entitled "Funding for the Internship of the Departments of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens"
The participation of the students of the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment in the Internship Programme is voluntary and can only take place once during their studies. The Internship is included in the elective courses of the Undergraduate Study Guide and has 8 ECTS. The grade of the Internship does not count towards the final degree grade.
The total duration of the Internship for the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment is eight (8) weeks (i.e. 2 months) full-time. During the two months of the Internship, student interns will receive a monthly participation fee, the amount of which will be determined by the CSU Internship Office and will be covered by insurance through the Program funds. The institutions have no involvement in matters of fees and insurance.
The application procedure for students to join the Internship Programme, as well as the criteria for the selection of students for the available positions (as defined annually for the Department by the ESF Internship Office), are described in detail in the relevant notice which is posted at the beginning of the winter semester on the Department's website and/or communicated to students via e-class.
Inclusion in the programme implies on the part of the students and the Host Organisations the acceptance of specific conditions, as well as the fulfilment of a series of commitments and deliverables described in detail in the Internship Regulations - ESPA of the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment.
Practical Training Certificate
The Internship Certificate aims to provide transparency and highlight the value of the experience gained by the student from the internship. This document is issued by the host organisation/enterprise upon completion of the internship by the student, and may be accompanied by other documents such as letters of recommendation.
