THE "ANDREAS KOKKINAKIS" PRIZE

An annual cash prize of one thousand euros (€1000) has been established in memory of Andreas Kokkinakis, former Assistant Professor of Petrology in the Department of Mineralogy and Petrology.

The prize will be awarded to a student who has excelled in compulsory courses of the Department's Undergraduate Program that are directly related to Petrology of Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic Rocks. The first prize is given to second-year students. 

The "Andreas Kokkinakis Prize" (€1000) will be awarded to the 2nd year student of the Department's Undergraduate Program who successfully passed the compulsory courses
a) Igneous Rocks - Magmatic Processes,
b) Petrology of Sedimentary Rocks and
c) Petrology of Metamorphic Rocks,
during the winter and spring semester exams, as well as the September exam, and who obtained the highest cumulative score. 

The prize is accompanied by a relevant document signed by the relevant authority. 

In the event of a tie in the sum of the scores, all those with the same score will be awarded with the relevant document, but the cash prize will be awarded to the student with the lowest family income. If the above conditions for the award are not met, it will not be awarded in that particular year. 

The prize will be awarded during the first reception event for first-year students of the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment after the final announcement of the awardee by the competent services.
