Accessibility Unit for Students with Disabilities

The Accessibility Unit for Students with Disabilities (MoProFmeA) of the University of Athens seeks equal access to the academic studies of students with different abilities and requirements, through the provision of adaptations to the environment, Supportive IT Technologies and Access Services.

The Unit includes:

  • Service for recording the specific needs of each student.
  • Department of Accessibility in the Built Space of the University.
  • Transfer Service from their residence to Schools and vice versa.
  • Supportive IT Technologies.
  • Free Software for students with disabilities.
  • Accessible Writings.
  • Accessible Workstations in Libraries.
  • Relay service for the direct live telecommunication of the students through interpretation in Greek Sign Language, with fellow students, professors and employees of the University.
  • Service of volunteer fellow students support.
  • Instructions on the appropriate ways of examining students with disabilities.
  • Psychological Counseling Support Service.

For the best service in each Department/School of the University of Athens, the following have been defined:

A) Students with disabilities Professor Advisor and his deputy and

B) Competent employee of the Secretariat and his deputy for Students with disabilities service
