A. Lectures

  • Basic principles of Remote Sensing
  • Electromagnetic spectrum
  • Sensors, Satellites, Orbits
  • Types of resolutions
  • Spectral analysis
  • Band ratios
  • Data corrections
  • Image processing
  • Histograms
  • Multi-temporal observation
  • GNSS data processing
  • Unmanned Aerial System data acquisition and Photogrammetric processing
  • LiDAR data acquisition and basic processing
  • Analog aerial photographs
  • Stereoscopy
  • Photo-geological interpretation

B. Practical Exercises:

  • Remote sensing data in ArcGIS, file formats and metadata
  • Natural and pseudo-colour band combinations
  • Indices (NDVI, SAVI etc)
  • Classification (supervised, unsupervised)
  • Geometric correction
  • Multi-temporal data generation
  • Photogrammetric processing and mosaicking UAS images
  • LiDAR point clouds processing
  • Aerial photographs interpretation
  • Map composition from photo-interpretation of analogue aerial photographs with the following topics:
    • Erosion – deposition
    • River terraces
    • Tectonic effects on the hydrographic network
    • Tectonic megastructures
    • Relief of a monocline sequence in a tectonically deformed area
