RESEARCH

The teaching and research staff of the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment are active in a number of research fields and related subjects, in many cases at an interdisciplinary level. Research programs are prepared by the Department either alone, or in collaboration with other scientific and research bodies in Greece and abroad in every field, where the Science of Geology can and does contribute to research and innovation, but also to social contribution, where the Department gives considerable weightage.

The Department of Geology and Geoenvironment encourages student participation in research, giving them the opportunity:

• to cultivate scientific thinking
• to understand the practical value of what is being taught
• to know the range of applications of the Science of Geology in modern life and
• to broaden learning horizons and work experience
